After 58 years of practice, Francis Scarpulla, a life-long practitioner of consumer protection and an advocate of fair business practice, has transitioned to providing mediation services. Throughout his career, Mr. Scarpulla has represented clients nationwide in matters involving antitrust and other complex matters, usually on behalf of plaintiff-based state and federal class actions. Because Mr. Scarpulla is also admitted to the Rolls of Solicitors in England and Wales, as well as in the Republic of Ireland, he has had cases in the EU, including the EU Truck Cartel cases. Mr. Scarpulla, who is one of the most peer-awarded lawyers in the country, has now chosen to direct his attention from prosecuting complex cases to mediation and alternative dispute resolution by founding San Francisco International Dispute Resolution Services, LLC.

Mr. Scarpulla intends to make his hard-won expertise available to negotiate ways and means to end any impasse encountered in adversarial proceedings in either a state, federal, or international venue. His antitrust practice allowed him, through his position as Lead Counsel, to manage plaintiffs’ steering committees in efforts to bring about resolution by negotiating complex issues involving defense counsel who represented the divergent interests of co-defendants.

Trial court judges and Special Masters have welcomed Mr. Scarpulla’s insight throughout his career, and now he can put that same knowledge and expertise to good use in furthering resolution of complex cases through mediation, or as a Special Master.
